Finally, Priyanka Chopra’s debut single, ‘In my city’, is out. But even as the actor launched her maiden song on Thursday, she was “feeling the jitters”. She also quipped that her voice is “completely lost” due to back-to-back interviews for Barfi! “But all said and done, I feel like my first film has just released. Forget singing professionally, I never felt that I could even sing well.” Bound by contract Priyanka Chopra refutes reports that she will sing in Krrish 3 and Zanjeer remake; talks about collaborating with Black Eyed Peas’ Will.i.am.

PC, who has collaborated with American rapper-producer Will.i.am (member of the Black Eyed Peas) on the single, says that she has put her “blood and soul” into the album. “Will.i.am and I were in the studios together for a couple of days. It was incredible working with him because he is such a genius composer and artiste. To see him at work, especially for me, was amazing,” says Priyanka. Did she get along famously with the hip-hop star? “When Will.i.am was in the studio, he was directing my song, so the chat was mostly about what I want to do and how my album should be. So, it was more about me.”

Talking of singing, reports suggest that Priyanka will sing for her forthcoming films, the Zanjeer remake and Krrish 3. “No, not as of now, because I have a contract with my label (Universal). But at some point, you never know. I probably will,” says the actor, whose single has been produced by RedOne (they have also worked with Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez and Nicky Minaj). “I worked hard on the album over the past one and a half years, including undergoing vocal training. Last night (the album’s launch) was the result of all my vocal classes despite four films in the interim. My tutor would come with me to the sets,” says Priyanka.
