"We currently have 750-800 sales points," Pravin Shah, chief executive, M&M, told HT. "Our plan is to touch 1000 in a year."
"In the course of the last one year or so we have grown 30% in terms of number of sales outlets," said Shah. "We found that there were scope for multiple dealerships in certain locations and we did so."
Mahindra has launched its fifth utility vehicle, Quanto last week and will launch Rexton, from its Korean subsidiary SsangYong at the top end of its product range, in October.
Commenting on the recently-launched compact SUV Quanto, which has a starting price of Rs. 5.82 lakh, Shah said it garnered 2,000 booking in the first week. The company plans to churn out 2,500 units of the Quanto in the first month. "The flexible production line-up helps us ramp up production according to the demand," he said
