A presentation about the proposals for power sector projects, Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) and solid waste management project was also made at an official meeting.
According to sources, the state government has proposed World Bank funding for Panki extension project and carry out reforms in the distribution sector.
The WB team also met minister for irrigation Shivpal Yadav. Agriculture production commissioner Alok Ranjan on the other hand assured the WB team that the state government would implement modernisation of lower Ganga canal irrigation project in a time-bound manner. The WB team apprised the APC about its findings during its visit to the project site. The World Bank is funding the UP state water sector restructuring project phase II at a cost of about R3000 crore. The project is scheduled to be implemented in next seven years.
