The gangmen soon grew restive and forced their way in. They go to raining savage blows on Goutam and had him overpowered in no time. They then tied him up along with his wife and 10-year-old son.
The visibly shaken family said that the goons then took away around 150 grams of gold ornaments, R10,000 in cash and brass utensils worth R5 lakh.
The sheer ease with which the goons managed to make their way into the household and melt away with the loot, left sleuths baffled. Police sources said that the goons, according to the family’s version of events, didn’t have any uniform on them.
