A high-school teacher allegedly attempted to rape a class 12 student who was on her way home from tuition. The incident happened at Gobindapur area under Krishnaganj police station in Nadia. The victim has lodged a complaint against the teacher with Krishnaganj police station in Nadia on Tuesday.

Police said, Rimpa Mondal (name changed), a student of class 12 of Khalboyalia High School in Nadia, was returning home after taking a tuition with her sister on a cycle on Tuesday morning. On her way Amal Barman, a teacher of Purnanagar High School, allegedly blocked her way near a mango grove of Chandpur village, very close to her native village, under same police station and forcefully took her into the mango grove and attempted to rape her.
