Principal secretary local bodies will inquire into the allegations of corruption against municipal town planner Raj Kumar. Social woker Karandeep Singh, president of an NGO, People For Literacy, had sent a letter to the Governor House alleging that the MTP was involved in unscrupulous activities. The letter was sent on August 30 this year.

The letter stated: "It is bought to your kind knowledge that Raj Kumar, MTP is adopting corrupt practices. In Ludhiana city, many building are springing up in violations of the building by-laws. The MTP is not taking any action." Even though an inquiry has been marked, no time-frame has been fixed.
