Karanvir Bohra’s Punjabi outing
While looking for greener pastures, most TV actors look towards Bollywood for substantial roles. A few make it in Bollywood, while others return to TV. But Karanvir Bohra, unlike others, is always happy to juggle TV, cinema and theatre.
Presently working on three different mediums — a hit TV show Saubhagyavati Bhava (SB, on Life OK), a Hindi play titled Mareechike and an upcoming 3D film, Mumbai 125 km — Karanvir is now ready to try something new.
Karanvir is producing a romantic Punjabi film called Love You Soniye, which will have him in the lead role. The film will also have his wife Teejay starring opposite him, which is a perfect fit, since Teejay, a VJ-turned-actor, has been doing Punjabi movies and serials for some time now.
“Karanvir is doing a Punjabi film because his wife Teejay wanted to act with him. He has a huge fan following in Punjab and this seemed the right time for a romantic film,” says a source.
The actor-turned-producer realised his popularity when he went location-hunting in Punjab, where more than 1,000 women gathered to get a glimpse of him. Karanvir plans to launch the film in mid-October.
