CBI counsel HPS Verma, on the other hand, argued that being in jail for a long period was no ground for bail. He added that the crime committed was heinous and an innocent person had been killed. He submitted that Jasbir Singh was directly involved and was identified by witnesses too. Verma also pointed out that Sabdil Singh, a co-accused in the case, had once threatened to kill DSP Armandeep, who investigated the case, so there was a threat perception.
After hearing the arguments, CBI special judge Najar Singh dismissed the bail plea.
Krishan Lal, Inder Sain, Avtaar Singh are accused in the case, along with Jasbir Singh, Sabdil Singh and dera chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh.
