The Delhi Police have arrested a software engineer, a graphic designer and an MBA who had created a fake website of the railway recruitment board and duped over 400 candidates by offering them jobs.
According to police, the trio lifted roll numbers from the original website and then listed them as the candidates who had qualified for jobs.

“After that, they contacted these candidates posing as railway officials and collected money from them in lieu of the job,” a senior police officer said. The accused have been identified as Sagar Saxena, 32, a software engineer and website developer, Pravin Kumar, 24, an graphic designer and Virender Sharma, 29, an MBA.

The trio has cheated over 400 people from Bihar, Bengal and Haryana.

During interrogation, the accused told the police that they, with the help of Manish,  who is currently residing in West Bengal, created a fake website,  www.irrb.org/muzaffarpur, that resembled the website of the railway recruitment board, Muzaffarpur, Bihar, that is rrbmuzaffarpur.bih.nic.in.

Manish, with the help of the others accused, collected the money from these “successful” candidates. According to police, they used to charge Rs. 1-1.5 lakh per candidate for the job of Group C and D in the Indian Railways. The scam now runs into crores.
