One dengue death has been reported so far. A nine-year-old girl from south Delhi’s Sangam Vihar died at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences on September 24, as per the official data.
Expert blame the spiralling dengue numbers on the conducive weather conditions for mosquito-breeding post rains.
In a review meeting with regard to dengue and malaria held on Saturday with senior officials of the health department, director of health services, medical superintendents of all government and major private hospitals, Municipal Health Officers and representatives of several blood blanks, Delhi health minister Ashok Kumar Walia stressed upon the need for adequate availability of beds, testing kits, medicines and platelets in hospitals.
