A 13-year-old boy, who was kidnapped last week from here, was on Tuesday found seriously injured in a hotel in Jalandhar, police said.
Sukhdev alias Mannu, a student of a local school here, was allegedly kidnapped by one Ashwani Kumar last week, police said. Kumar had allegedly tried to kill the boy after kidnapping him, they said, adding that hotel staff had managed to rescue the boy from the accused.

Police admitted the boy to a private hospital in Jalandhar under serious condition.

Probe revealed that the parents of the boy were running a dairy farm and there was some dispute over payment with the accused. The accused is on the run, police said.
