He said that if she really sympathised with the rape victims, why had she not visited the families of 11 other such victims who were also raped in Haryana during the past one month.
It was also shocking to see that she had not held the ruling Congress government led by chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, responsible for over12 cases of rapes and gang rapes in the state, during the past about a month. Hooda too had attempted to silence another victim of gang rape in Khanpur university recently by giving her Rs. 3 lakh from state exchequer, instead of giving her justice.
Stating that while the women and scheduled caste cells of the INLD held demonstrations and burnt the effigies of Hooda government at the district level on Tuesday, Chautala said the INLD MLAs would submit a memorandum against Hooda government to governor on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Haryana Janhit Congress leader Kuldeep Bishnoi also said in a release that Gandhi's visit to family members of the victim of gang-rape was only a political drama in the wake of forthcoming elections in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh.
While there had been 12 rapes during the past one month and 62 cases of rapes and gang-rapes last year, how come none of the Congress leader bothered to sympathise with them, he questioned. The BJP state president Krishan Pal Gurjar also said that people of Haryana were frustrated with the lawlessness and steep increase in the prices of all essential commodities.
