The local police on Tuesday arrested a person and booked three others on the charges of robbing and defrauding people, using fake police identification.  Station house officer Mandi Ahmadgarh police station Gurpratap Singh said that the police set up a check-post at Khanpur village on the Malerkotla-Khanna road. A driver of the car coming from Khanna was asked to stop, as he was in police uniform. However, he failed to prove his identity.

The accused has been identified as Jaspreet Singh, a resident of Sahnewal in Ludhiana district. A .12 bore pistol and two cartridges were recovered from his possession.

During interrogation, the accused has named Dalwinder Singh, Happy and Gogi, as accomplices. "An investigation is on. We are searching for the other accused," the SHO said.
