Having missed his first GM norm when he needed one point from three rounds but lost all of them in Bulgaria last May, IM and national U-25 champion Swapnil Dhopade (5.5) could get it in the national premier chess championship in Kolkata on Wednesday if he draws against GM Abhijit Kunte.

Also a win away from a GM norm are Anuragh Mhamal, who achieved an IM norm on Tuesday, and IM P Karthikeyan.
