A Rado watch and Hermes leather belt-wearing high-ranking Communist Party of China official has triggered uproar after he apparently blocked a newspaper from carrying a story that implicated him as corrupt. Details of the story has been forwarded on Chinese social networking sites more than 100000 times, forcing the CPC's official news agency, Xinhua, to report on it late on Wednesday evening, 

Li Dejin, head of Fujian's Department of Transportation was spotted wearing the valuables - which cost nearly $10000 -stopped the Metropolitan Times of Yunnanfrom carrying the story.

According to reports, Li forced the newspaper to withdraw thousands of copies of the newspaper on Monday. According to Xinhua, the case was revealed by Zhou Zhichen, editor-in-chief of the Metropolitan Times, who posted a message on Sina Weibo, China's Twitter-like microblog.
