Jammu and Kashmir law minister Ali Mohammad Sagar has favoured revisiting outdated laws so that there is improvement in functioning of various institutions of justice.
"There is a dire need of revisiting existing laws for the purpose of ensuring that these are found to be in the interest of public and covering all affairs dealing with day-to-day needs of general public," Sagar said at the consultative committee meeting for various departments under his charge, which includes rural development and Panchayati Raj.

The meeting, held last evening, was attended by minister of state for rural development Aijaz Ahmad Khan, legislators Nizam-ud-Din Bhat, Subash Chander Gupta, Aga Syed Ahmad, Balwant Singh Mankotia and officials of the concerned departments, an official spokesman said.

The meeting was informed that the state litigation policy shall be updated for ensuring expeditious disposal of cases and also ensuring minimal litigation between different parties or government.
