The bodies of a Sikh woman and her three sons, who were murdered in Brussels on September 28, will reach their native village, Buyani, near Doraha on Friday.
Former union minister and SAD leader Balwant Singh Ramoowalia, who took up the matter with the central government and the Indian embassy in Belgium, told HT on Thursday that he had approached deputy chief of mission, Indian embassy to Belgium, Santosh Jha, over the issue and requested him to expedite the process of sending the bodies to India at government expenditure as the family was too poor to pay for it. Ramoowalia said he had also met union minister for overseas Indian affairs YL Ravi in Delhi in this regard.

Jasvir Singh of Buyani village, working as a cook in Brussels, got the shock of his life when he returned home and found his wife Rajvir Kaur (32) and three sons, Manraj (7), Karmanvir Singh (5) and Navjot (3), murdered.

Jasvir's brother Jaspreet said Jasvir had told them that the bodies had been dispatched and would reach the village in the morning. The last rites will be performed in the village crematorium.
