The Ford hospital molestation case took a new turn on Thursday with the victim alleging pressure calls from the hospital to close the case. The woman alleged that she had received four to five calls asking her “to settle the matter” and “take the case back”. She said the caller too had been a woman. The complainant’s husband alleged that the caller even threatened his wife with dire consequences if she didn’t withdraw the case.

The family has informed the police about the development which began soon after the woman, who was allegedly molested by Ford hospital administrative officer Dr BL Anand, lodged an FIR against the accused on Wednesday.

He said the family was worried that the hospital authorities could harm them so they have informed the Gomti Nagar station officer (SO) SK Gautam. The SO said, “We are probing the matter and the accused have been summoned for further probe”.

The victim’s family reconfirmed the HT, “We have received at least four-five calls asking us to take back the complaint”. The victim’s husband said a woman close to the hospital authorities called up and tried to force his wife to settle the matter.

It may be mentioned, the complainant has pressed charges against Ford Hospital administrator Dr BL Anand under relevant sections of the IPC in her FIR.

The victim was initially too traumatised to lodge an FIR against the doctor. But, after her family supported her, she went to police station and lodged complaint.

The woman told the police that the incident took place when she had visited the hospital to collect her sister’s blood reports.

She alleged that the doctor uttered vulgar words after finding her alone in the hospital room and allegedly pulled her towards himself with an indecent intention. She, however, rescued herself, came out running and called up her relatives staying nearby.

Meanwhile, the doctor slipped out of the hospital to avoid embarrassment after the woman raised the issue.
