All 11,594 polling stations in 2,800 buildings in Delhi will be on Google Maps. At a single click, you will get to know the names and contact numbers of elections officers concerned. Hyperlinks will get you the complete electoral rolls of your respective area. Delhi's chief electoral officer Vijay Kumar Dev said, "This facility will be available once you visit the election commission website."
The official said, "Our officers are already visiting various polling stations and taking GPS coordinates to be submitted for the website later."
"Our focus is on the youth and online registration. In the next phase, we are hoping to get a mobile-based application designed for all platforms. It is very tiresome to fill details on our website using a mobile phone. The application will solve this problem. Users will only have to fill some basic information such as name, date of birth and address and they will get a page of pre-filled details," he said.
"We will publish a draft roll on October 15. Till November 15, we will invite objections and claims for addition and deletion of names and other data corrections. We will dispose of all claims and objections between November 15 and December 15. We will publish a final roll on January 10, 2013," Dev said.
"This is one important opportunity to correct the electoral roll," he said.
