Women are not safe even at workplace. In yet another incident, a 28-year-old woman employee of a leading electrical appliances company levelled charges of sexual harassment against her boss here on Saturday. She has lodged an FIR for obscenity, threat and insult against company’s state head for Uttar Pradesh with the Hazratganj police station.

This is the ninth incident of crime against women reported with the city police in the past two weeks.

According to the victim, the incident took place when she went to take signatures of the company’s state head Bhavesh Ajmerain his office chamber on Saturday afternoon. The company’s state office is on the second floor of Govinda building in Halwasiya court in Hazratganj area.

The woman alleged Ajmera initially started some unofficial conversation with her and tried to molest her. She said the accused passed some lewd remarks on her and allegedly pulled her towards him. He even manhandled her and threatened her with dire consequences when she resisted him.

The complainant said she rescued herself and came out running of the office chamber and sought help of her other colleagues. She later informed her husband who rushed to the spot immediately and took her to the police station.

She said Ajmera usually sits in Mumbai based company office but visits here four-five days in a month. Even on Saturday, Ajmera was here to review the company’s work.

Circle officer (CO), Hazratganj, Dinesh Yadav said t he police have registered the FIR against Bhavesh Ajmera under IPC sections 294 for obscenity, 504 for insulting and 506 for threatening with dire consequences. He said the accused initially has denied the allegations levelled against him. The police, however, are further probing the matter.
