Police sources said the person did not appear to be a professional criminal as he did not even cover his face and had no gadgets to open the lock.
A case of theft and house trespass has been registered on a complaint by branch manager Rajinder Kaur. College principal JS Raghu said, "I condemn the incident and will find out if any student of the college was involved in it. We have asked the police for the CCTV footage and will try to ascertain the identity of the accused. Security on the college premises has been beefed up."
