A man was found murdered under mysterious circumstances in his house in Bagh Mughalia on late Saturday night. The victim--Sanjay alias Munna, 28, was attacked on his head, when he was asleep. It is suspected that Sanjay was attacked with a hard blunt object that caused his death on the spot. When he was attacked, there were other family members in the house as well. Sub divisional officer of police (SDOP) Sarika Shukla said that Sanjay’s mother and a relative were also in the house then. “We are recording their statements,” the SDOP said.

It is also suspected that someone who was well acquainted with the house was involved in the attack. Police sources said that the house was shut from within. However, there was a way to enter from the back, said sources.

Sanjay’s wife had died a couple of years ago. He is survived by his four-year-old daughter who was in the house then. His son lives at his in-laws’ residence. The Bagh Sewania police have registered a case and have started investigations in this regard. Police said that local residents and suspects are being quizzed. The body has been sent for post-mortem.
