It was end of the road for 16-year-old IB Akshay. Seeded No. 1 in the boys’ U-16 at the Fenesta Open, the youngster from Tamil Nadu was shown the door by Raghav Jaisinghani during the second round on Tuesday. Jaisinghani didn't face much trouble as he raced to an easy 6-2, 6-3 victory over the top seed, to set up a third round date with PV Gnana Bhaskar who beat Indra Patwardhan 7-5, 6-3.

Second seeded Vishnu B Prasad had a tough time. Up against Kushaan Nath, Prasad had to fight hard to triumph 6-2, 3-6, 7-5 at the DLTA complex.

The other seeds to bow out were Deepak Vishwakarma (sixth), Dhruv Pal (seventh) and Ravi Raswant (ninth).

In the girls’ U-16, third seed Karman Kaur Thandi was upset by Snehal Mane 6-1, 4-6, 6-7 (5). Thandi was the sole upset as the other seeds moved into the third round with ease.
