An elevator in an apartment complex in Indirapuram here came crashing down from the fifth floor on Wednesday, leaving three of a family injured.

The elevator in Jaipuria Sunrise Green group-housing society was carrying seven people, including two minors. The injured suffered fractures, ligament injuries and minor abrasions and were hospitalised.

"Within seconds of taking the elevator, we were in free fall. It hit the ground with a bang and was engulfed in a dust haze," said Meenakshi Ralhan, sister of one of the injured.
