An official spokesman said on Thursday that the chief justice of Punjab and Haryana high court had also asked them to send monthly progress report of such cases by 10th of every month.
He said that Haryana government had made a written request to the Punjab and Haryana high court for consideration of appropriate effective directions for fast tracking of all cases of heinous crimes against women that are under trial in various courts in the State.
The state government had also requested that if the high court found it appropriate, it might especially monitor the cases of heinous crimes against women with the objective of reduction of delay.
He said that the Haryana government had sent a written communication to all deputy commissioners, superintendents of police and district attorneys to constitute district level committees to monitor each case of heinous crime against women that might have occurred in the district and was at different stages.
He said that this committee would meet at least once in 15 days and would expedite each case and ensure that there was no laxity in pursuit of the case. The committee would also review other aspects of such cases including the legal aid to the victim, compensation and medical aid.
