The state government has decided to set up a control-room at Writers' Buildings during the 10 days of Puja holidays, where IAS and IPS officers will be deputed round the clock. The IAS officers have to stay at Writers' Buildings even at nights on these 10 days. The chief minister will be present at Writers' Buildings all the 10 days except on Vijaya Dashami. She has instructed all her cabinet ministers from Kolkata to attend office. The chief secretary and the home secretary will be present at Writers' Buildings on all 10 days.

"It's been decided to establish a control-room at Writers' Buildings to coordinate all matters relating to Durga Puja 2012. The control-room will be operational from 8am on October 20 till 8pm on October 29. The control-room will be located in the office chamber of the secretary, Disaster Management Department, on the secondfloor of Writers' Buildings. The control-room will be headed by the principal secretary, or a secretary-level officer, who will be assisted by other officers," chief secretary Sanjay Mitra said in his order.

A total of 21 IAS officers will be deputed to the controlroom during these 10 days. These officers will be assisted by WBCS-rank officers and other officers from various departments.
