Having won seven Tour de France titles is no longer part of Lance Armstrong's Twitter profile. As late as Monday night, Armstrong's bio on the social media site included a mention of his seven Tour wins from 1999-2005, but reference to the race was removed hours after he was stripped of the titles by the International Cycling Union and banned from the sport for life for his involvement in what the US Anti-Doping Agency described as a massive doping program.

Early Tuesday, Armstrong's profile said: “Raising my five kids. Fighting Cancer. Swim, bike, run and golf whenever I can.” Previously, the profile said: “Father of 5 amazing kids, 7-time Tour de France winner, full time cancer fighter, part time triathlete.”

‘Take blinkers off’
Sydney: The head of the World Anti-Doping Agency says cycling's world body will not regain credibility until officials who presided over the drug-tainted Lance Armstrong era are removed from the sport.

WADA president John Fahey told Australia's Fox Sports that the UCI, which on Monday stripped Armstrong of his seven Tour de France titles, had to ‘take the blinkers off’ and examine its own past.

Fahey said the UCI should ask itself “are those same people still in the sport and can they proceed forward with those people remaining? I don't think there's any credibility if they don't do that.” He said "everyone" doped during the Armstrong era and the UCI had to address how such widespread doping went undetected.

100th Tour route
Tour de France organisers on Wednesday unveil the route for the historic 100th edition of cycling's most famous race, with celebrations overshadowed by Armstrong's damaging doping scandal. Next year's race begins on June 29 at Porto-Vecchio on the Mediterranean island of Corsica and finishes on the Champs Elysees in central Paris on July 21.
