I hear people say ‘I’ go to temple every day. As long as this ‘I’ is there, going to temple or church will not reap any benefit. We are not what we are because of anything from us; it is just how He wants us to be. Do all what you can, stay awake, conscious and aware, but keep crediting all
results to Him. Don’t let either winning or losing run over your mind.
Our mind is split into a few parts and we call them heart, soul, feelings etc. Many times, we say, “my mind says yes but my soul or my heart says no”; but it is our mind only messaging from different origins. Spiritual people are able to keep one part of their mind completely in silence all the time and yet they are connected with daily worldly chores with the other part. The good thing to learn is they don’t let messages from one part enter the other part so that they are perfectly balanced and stay completely connected with the Lord and the world at the same time.
Life is a temporary stay. The idea is not to give up on daily chores, but to run them parallel with your godly connection. Most people think old age is the time to worship and work and enjoy. If it’s not the time now to worship the Lord, then there never will be any. You have to understand that your both lives have to go together to get you in perfect balance. And only when you see yourself balanced perfectly into two, you will then attain your selflessness.
You need to be able to live with a surrendered notion. Do your chores as usually you would, but don’t let the results occupy over all parts of your mind. It is true that life goes through many turbulences and rough patches very frequently; and the smooth drive is usually short lived. And yet, you need to keep the worldly parts of your mind functioning and be in perfect balance.
