If you are a resident of Delhi, then in all probability you are either suffering from some allergy or even a respiratory problem. And, with the weather changing soon now, these problems are going to be on the rise. While there are medicines that can help you breathe better, but they don’t offer
any final remedy to the problem. As I suffer from an allergy myself, therefore, I know the limitations that medicines can have.
In fact, eating medicines is something I really hate. They are my last resort and I really wish that there is a better way of tackling the problem. Well, my prayers got answered soon, when a few days ago, a friend of mine asked me if I have heard about Salt Therapy? Salt Therapy? I wondered what it meant –does it mean that one needs to eat huge amounts of salt to get cured (my god just imagine how much sodium will your body have). On the contrary, Salt Therapy means breathing in salty air for therapeutic reasons.
Incidentally, it is a common, natural treatment in eastern and central Europe but almost unknown in India. The therapy is based on the principle that exposures to the microclimate inside a natural salt mine or cave can play an important role in the relief of many health problems; especially for patients with respiratory disorders and allergies.
For this, Salt therapy is delivered in a special room, where the climate of a natural salts mine / cave is replicated. Just breathing in that air eliminates the root of all inflammatory respiratory illnesses (lower or upper tract, asthma, bronchitis as well as allergies) by destroying the bacteria. One needs to go a few sessions at least in order to feel some difference in their condition. But believe me, after one session only, I could feel the difference with no bouts of sneezing happening whatsoever for the next two days (it surely was a record of sorts for me).
Two things about the therapy that I really liked were that it seemed absolutely safe and natural even for small kids. There is a separate room for kids with toys, books etc so that the child can keep playing while the air around him does the trick. The second thing is that the therapy can be taken without giving up on your medicines – you can do that once you are completely cured.
