The meeting that started at Hotel Oberoi in Gurgaon on October 29 will conclude on November 2.On Tuesday, the Gurgaon traffic police shot a stinker to the expressway operator expressing dissatisfaction over traffic management.
“The expressway operator has failed to manage the traffic effectively as per the high court orders, resulting in long congestion during the last two days. The operator did not lift boom barriers despite the traffic crossed the redline-mark on both the sides of toll plaza,” said DCP (east) Maheshwar Dayal.
Motorists have alleged that the congestion is also due to slow collection process of toll by booth agents. “On Sunday, I was stuck in the jam at the toll plaza for 15-20 minutes. I found the agents comparatively slow in processing the toll,” said Shruti Singh, an HR executive with a city-based firm.
However, officials of DGSCL, the expressway operator, claimed that the waiting time for the motorists at the Sirhaul toll plaza was still under three-minute and vehicle queues never crossed the red line.
“There was no let up in the toll processing speed. There was a minor problem due to the two lanes being dedicated for the conference initially, but even that has been resolved,” a DGSCL official said.
