The fear of early winters and voter participation had failed to dampen the spirits in high mountainous tribal belts in the state that registered a considerably good polling percentage.
Even while the residents of the tribal belts were busy closing with their seasonal work instead of being proactive and responsive to the election campaigns ahead of elections the cold response as it was previously predicted has been turned out to be much ado about nothing. 

Kinnaur district turned out to be the highest tribal district to have registered 74.28 %, followed by the Bharmaour tribal constituency that witnessed 73.72 % while Lahaul and Spiti district saw a voting percentage of 68%.

The country’s highest polling station Hikkam situated at 14567ft above sea level in Lahual Spiti, connected by motarable road is one of the most desolate and hard terrains in India registered 81.14%. It had 333 electorates that included 180 men and 154 women.

In the 2009 Lok Sabha election, the Hikkam station served 321 voters from three villages. Last assembly elections in 2007 it had recorded the highest (83.3 percent) turnout in the district of Lahaul and Spiti. .

Deputy commissioner, SS Guleria that of the 333 voters as many as 271 people exercised their franchise that included 140 men and 131 women.

Meanwhile Ka polling station in Kinnaur district which has the lowest number of voters experienced 100% voter turnout that had 18 electors and all of them voted that included 12 women and six men.
