The Allahabad high court on Monday directed the Etawah district court to paste the notice of the court at the residence of Kannauj MP Dimple Yadav at Saifai on a petition filed against her that she was elected unopposed in the by-elections.

Single judge bench of Justice DP Singh directed the district judge to paste the notice at her residence after Dimple, wife of chief minister Akhilesh Yadav, did not response to it issued way back on September 11 last.

The HC had earlier given six weeks time to Dimple Yadav to respond to the notice.

The court has now fixed November 22 as the next date of hearing.

The HC had issued notice to the Kannauj MP on a petition filed by Prabhat Pandey, candidate of the Voter Party International, in the Kannauj Lok Sabha by-elections held in June last.

In the petition it has been alleged that the candidate was kidnapped on June 6 so that Dimple Yadav could get elected unopposed.

The petition was filed in July under Section 81 of the Representation of Peoples (RP) Act.
