Police have detained a class 9 student in southwest Bihar's Kaimur district for allegedly raping a six-year-old girl.

The crime took place on Wednesday, but came to light late on Thursday night after police received a tip-off that the girl was being treated at a private clinic.

According to the girl's relatives, the boy lured her to a hut and abused her.

Meanwhile, in south Tripura's Udaipur sub-division, a 19-year-old girl was allegedly gangraped by a taxi driver and three others on Thursday.

The accused dumped the girl in an unconscious state outside the Sipahijala district SP's office, 30km north of Udaipur, around midnight and fled.

The police have identified the accused and launched a hunt for them.
