The RJD chief made these remarks while addressing a large gathering at Kishanganj in north-eastern Bihar, on Saturday, in course of the sixth phase of his ‘parivartan yatra’ to secure the ouster of the Nitish Kumar government.
Lalu reiterated that his movement to dislodge the “misrule” of the Nitish Kumar-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government in the state would continue relentlessly till the task was accomplished.
He said Bihar was in the grip of a new scandal he described as the as ‘estimate ghotala (scam)’.
“Money meant for welfare schemes is being siphoned off before it reaches the ground,” he said, adding that the government was being run by an unbridled bureaucracy, leaving no room for people's representatives to have their say.
Lalu appealed to the people to defeat what he described as communal forces and accused the state government of implicating innocent Muslim youths in false cases.Declaring Nitish Kumar's ongoing visit to Pakistan a farce, Lalu advised him to visit Afghanistan and Gujarat instead.
Expressing happiness over the support of the masses, especially youths and minorities for his campaign, Lalu said the tempo should be maintained so that his party could return to power in the state.
