Arvind Patel, a businessman staying at Dombivli, forgot his bag in a suburban local train but was lucky to get it back, thanks to the railway helpline.

"I boarded a local at Dombivli station and got off at Badlapur station. The moment I realised I had forgotten my bag in the local, I dialled the railway helpline, 9833331111, and informed the control room officer of the situation. I also told him the compartment I was travelling in and gave him a description of the bag," said Patel.

Arvind Walvi, police inspector, Dombivli railway police station said: "Police constable Pansare of the railway control room called up our police station and told us that a commuter had left his bag in the Badlapur-CST train. Our police team went to the station, scanned the compartment and found the bag, along with the Rs2.5 lakh cash that was stored in it."

"When Patel reached our police station, we asked him to give us details about the bag colour and amount of money inside. He provided us with correct details about the bag, hence we returned it to him," he added.
