Bashir also hoped that the normalised visa regime between India and Pakistan would be operational soon.
“The Pakistan government and the prosecution (in 26/11 case) are doing their best to ensure that justice is done,” Bashir told reporters after inaugurating his country’s pavilion at the 32nd India International Trade Fair in the capital.
Asked about 26/11 mastermind Hafiz Saeed who is roaming freely in Pakistan, Bashir said, “Hafiz Saeed or whoever he is... the whole issue, we believe, should be dealt in accordance with law, if there is any evidence. I must remind you that Saeed was set free after due judicial process by the high court.”
Bashir also said the relationship between India and Pakistan had moved forward beyond the Samjhuata blast probe or the Mumbai attack trial.
“We have always believed that on the issues like fight against terrorism, drugs and crime, the only way forward is to work together.”
