Chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda will set a new precedent after he will lay the foundation stones and unveil inaugural plaques of five different projects from the same spot here on Sunday.
Hooda will be in town to attend the main function of laying the foundation stone of Kalpana
Chawla Medical College at police lines.
He will unveil the inaugural plaques of solid waste management plant established at Shekhpura village near here and a new administrative block built at the mini secretariat complex.
Hooda will also lay the foundation stone of expansion of Mughal Canal and a new building of fire brigade to come at Sector 4, here.
Issue of four other projects (other than medical college) has, however, not been publicised by the authorities.
However, a visit to the venue (police lines), where Hooda is scheduled to address a public rally, reveals the story of other projects.
The local administration has erected four commemorative plaques near the main podium, where the CM would inaugurate them on Sunday afternoon.
Interestingly, all four projects which would be opened or whose foundation stones would be laid on Sunday are located in the vicinity of the main venue. But no reason has been given as to why the chief minister would not visit these spots.
Meanwhile, former Union minister and a senior BJP leader ID Swami has ridiculed the decision to choose a single venue to inaugurate other projects in town.
"Will local administration dismantle the bricked plaques or they would fix new inaugural plaques? It is a highly uncommon practice and shows how biased the state authorities are about certain areas in Haryana," said Swami, also a retired IAS officer from Karnal.
