Meher, who is currently studying in Southern Methodist University on a golf scholarship, is one of the beneficiaries of the Albatross Golf Tour, an initiative by Indian parents concerned about the limited exposure their golf-playing children were getting.
Established in 2007, the junior tour now boasts of tie-ups with the International Junior Golf Tour of Tiger Woods' ex-coach Hank Haney, as well as the invitational event hosted by Sweden's Annika Sorenstam.
Rounding off the 2012 season is the Albatross International Junior Golf Championship, whose girls' category 'B' (13-14 years; there are four other age classes) Seher will be taking part in from Nov 20-23 at the Jaypee Greens in Greater Noida. Last year, the tournament started carrying R&A World Amateur Golf Ranking points. In its fourth year, it will now offer to its 124 participants - 38 of whom are from foreign lands - ranking points for Junior Golf Scoreboard, a database that aids universities in selecting potential students.
