Thieves struck at four residential accommodations and decamped with gold and other valuables worth lakhs in Chandigarh on Sunday.
In first incident, miscreants targeted residence of a Bhutanese student, Kelzang Namgyel, in Sector 15. Kelzang is studying at Post Graduate Government College, Sector 11.

Kelzang Namgyel told police that someone broke into his room and took away two laptops, besides some important documents. On receipt of information, police reached the spot with dog squad. A team of Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) also visited the spot and took samples for examination. A case under Sections 380 and 457 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered in the Sector 11 police station.

In another incident, Surender Kumar Saini, a resident of E-Block, Panjab University, reported that someone took away a bag containing a laptop, car keys, passport, identity card and other documents from his residence. A case has been registered in Sector 11 police station.

In yet another incident reported to Sector 34 police station, Vishav Maan Singh, a resident of Sector 33, alleged that Sanjay Kumar, a resident of Sector 33, has stolen a kitty set, a gold bangle set, a diamond ring, three gold rings and a gold chain. A case has been registered.

In another case, Preet Pal Kaur, a resident of Manimajra, reported that someone broke into her house and took away a gold ring, a gold chain and Rs. 31,000 from her residence. A case has been registered at Manimajra police station.
