Over 46 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has so far arrived in various grain markets of Haryana during the current Kharif season as compared to over 39.84 lakh metric tonnes of the crop during the corresponding period last year.
Out of the total arrival till yesterday, the maximum quantity of paddy had arrived in district Kurukshetra, which is over 8.71 lakh metric tonnes (LMT), a spokesman of Haryana Food and Supplies Department said here today.

Similarly, district Karnal received over 8.40 LMT of paddy, district Kaithal over 6.71 LMT and Fatehabad district had received over 5.99 LMT of the crop.

He said out of the total arrival of paddy, six government agencies had so far procured over 37.83 LMT of paddy whereas the remaining quantity was procured by the millers.
