“Hardeep rushed to the Chhatarpur farmhouse where he found Ponty and killed him in anger. We are scanning the call details of Ponty, Hardeep and their men to establish the exact sequence of events,” a senior police officer said.
Hardeep Chadha’s father-in-law Harvinder Singh Sarna, however, said, “We do not know what exactly happened and how. But there was no property dispute between the two. Whatever differences were there had already been settled.” “The two families have always been together. They don’t even want to pursue the case against each other,” he added.
Sarna's elder brother Paramjit Singh Sarna, who is also the president of Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Prabhandak Committee, said, "The two brothers had separate businesses, but they were like one single family. If there was any dispute between them we would have certainly known."
Vivek Gogia, Joint Commissioner of Police (south-West), said the property dispute had not reached the court and the brothers' mother and community elders had been trying to find a solution to the disagreements between the two.
