With Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee seeking support from political parties, including the BJP, for a no-confidence motion against the UPA government in parliament, the Congress on Tuesday accused her of pursuing 'communal politics'. "We have seen her meeting religious leaders earlier and now she is seeking the help of the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) for backing the Trinamool's no-confidence motion against the UPA. She is trying to create a new political equation with the BJP," Union minister of State for Urban Development Deepa Dasmunshi said.

"Ever since she came to power, the only word she has been uttering is 'riot'. But we will not allow her to pursue communal politics in Bengal," Dasmunshi said in Haldia.

She attacked Banerjee for her proposal to bring the no-confidence motion against the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government on November 22, the first day of parliament's winter session.

"She is willing to go to Alimuddin Street (CPI-M state headquarters) and talk to them. But she must not forget that only because of her alliance with us, her party has grown in strength," Dasmunshi said.

Addressing a rally at this port town in East Midnapore district, Dasmunshi accused the Trinamool Congress government of indulging in corrupt practices at the Haldia dock complex and said the Congress would seek the prime minister's intervention in the matter.

"In spite of our repeated demands, they do not want a CBI probe in the matter because they are afraid their misdeeds would come out. Haldia is now a mountain of corruption. We will talk to the prime minister and seek his intervention," Dasmunshi said."
