“None of the 10 persons arrested by the police are Sainiks,” said Sankhe.
Interestingly, Sankhe also helped the accused get bail by arranging for lawyers.
“I believe that every marathi manoos is a Shiv Sainik, and it is my duty to help them,” he said.
Salunke accused the media of ignoring the girl’s action and instead targeting the Sena.
“You [the media] is silent on what that girl has done. She is not a child and obviously understands the difference between right and wrong, and should have known that her words would hurt people who look up to the Sena chief,” said Sankhe.
“The matter would have ended if she had apologised. However, she refused to do so till 11pm on Sunday and hence I lodged a police complaint against her.”
The Sena leader however clarified that did not have any role in the violence.
“We were all at Shivaji Park to attend Balasaheb’s funeral. I was informed about the Facebook post while I was on my way back,” he said.
