“Though the decision should have come several months ago, I won’t say it is too late. It is certainly right thing to do. But a lot has to be done before perpetrators of the Mumbai attack are brought to justice,” he said.
“I am happy not because of my son, but because the terrorists killed many innocent people. My son died trying to stop terrorists from killing innocent people,” he added. Unnikrishnana said the government now had to ensure that those behind the attack were punished.
He said he was proud of his son Sandeep, who fought with the terrorists and gave his life to the nation, said, “Sandeep’s statue will be installed in Bangalore soon,” he added.
The deceased commando’s mother, Dhanalakshmi Unnikrishnan, said the government took the right decision by hanging Kasab.
