Ravi Sher Josh, nephew of chief parliamentary secretary Mohinder Kaur Josh, was denied bail by the court on Friday in a case of causing death of two girls and injuring another with his car. But even as the court of additional sessions judge JS Bhinder decided to hear the case now on December 10, "when all the relevant documents are produced", Ravi Sher was allowed to appear in the preliminary exam for the Punjab Civil Services (PCS) under the police's watch on November 25.

Ravi Sher was booked last Saturday for causing death of two girls at Gobindpur Khun Khun village with his Gypsy. He faces charges under sections 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and 307 (attempt to murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Meanwhile, Shiromani Akali Dal-Amritsar (SAD-A) president Simranjit Singh Mann visited the village to extend condolences to the bereaved families. He asked them not to immerse the ashes of the deceased till the government announced compensation.
