The Supreme court on Friday expressed satisfaction over the power situation in Delhi and disposed of a plea it has been hearing for the last 13 years for improving electricity supply in the city.
A bench of justices DK Jain and Madan B Lokur observed the power situation in the NCR had become 1000 times better than when the apex court had taken up the case.

The court observed that the power distribution firms had done a good job and they deserve to be appreciated.

The court had taken up the case in 1999 when a PIL was filed, drawing the court’s attention to the death of a patient at AIIMS due to power failure.
