Eminent lawyer Ram Jethmalani was issued a show-cause notice on Monday for “anti-party activities” and “indiscipline” by the BJP’s parliamentary board.

“The parliamentary board confirmed the national president’s decision to suspend Jethmalani. We also decided to give him a show-cause notice as to why he shouldn't be expelled from the party for six years,” BJP leader Ananth Kumar said.

When asked if action was being taken against Yashwant Sinha and Shatrughan Sinha — who had also opposed Gadkari — Kumar said, “Today's meeting was only on Ram Jethmalani.”
