The farmers of Dokaria and Bhujbuja villages would go for mass begging at tehsil headquarters Vijayraghogarh, Katni if their demand to withdraw allocation of grazing land (charnoi land) of their villages to a private firm Welspun Energy Madhya Pradesh Limited is not withdrawn.

The private firm is acquiring land for its proposed thermal power plant.

A delegation of farmers from these villages made a representation to the divisional commissioner (revenue) demanding the grazing land of their villages should not be handed over to the private firm.

According to Loktantrik Samajwadi Party district president Bindeshwari Patel, the farmers would go for mass begging at tehsil headquarters at Vijayraghogarh if they are left unheard.

The villagers has appealed the divisional commissioner (revenue) to withdraw the criminal cases registered against the villagers during various agitations in past, he said.

The villagers want Vijayraghogarh sub-divisional magistrate Vinay Jain and tehsildar Prashant Shrivastava be removed for their alleged misbehavior with farmers, Patel said.

The farmers want judicial probe instead of ongoing magisterial probe into suicide of Suniya Bai in village Dokaria on Diwali, he said.

The farmers of these villages are opposing to give up possession of their farmland claiming the revenue officials did not follow proper process to acquire their land as the agriculture department has wrongly mentioned that their land is unfit for crop cultivation.
