Rich tributes were paid to former minister and Member of Parliament Girdhari Lal Dogra on his 25th death anniversary in Jammu on Wednesday. A grand function was organised by the Dogra family, which was attended by many state luminaries besides Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah and the leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha Arun Jaitley, who were the chief guests.

While Omar recalled his forefathers’ association with the Dogra family and how Dogra highlighted the issues of the state, Jaitley said Dogra’s vision of ‘service without self’ was the mainstay of his rise to power in the state.

Later state Congress president, former Union minister and MP Saifuddin Soz paid rich tributes to Dogra.

Soz described Dogra as the epitome of simplicity and dedication who stood for secular values throughout his life.

He served the people of the state for a long time in various capacities and always worked for poor and downtrodden sections of society.
