A day after her heart procedure, chief minister Sheila Dikshit resumed official duties from her hospital bed on Wednesday.
Dikshit went through files most of Wednesday. Although the hospital authorities tried to keep guests at bay, Delhi ministers Ramakant Goswami, Kiran Walia,
Raj Kumar Chouhan among several others visited her.
While family members kept her company, Dikshit, who 'walked around the room a few times', 'had all her meals normally,' doctors said.
"All her parameters are fine. She has had a very smooth recovery and is scheduled for discharge tomorrow early morning," said Dr Ashok Seth, chairman, cardiac services at Fortis Escorts Heart and Research Institute.
Dr Seth is her personal physician; attending to her ever since 2001 when she underwent her first major open heart surgery.
Doctors have advised her home rest for at least a week. "She is completely fit and can do some non-strenuous paperwork but too many meetings and hectic work is not recommended at least for the time-being," said Dr Seth.
"Although we are not exactly sure when she will join work, but she has started looking up files," said Pawan Khera, a close aide to the chief minister.
"This is a good opportunity for her to catch up on her sleep and get adequate rest before her resumes her hectic work hours," he said.
Dikshit underwent angioplasty- inserting a stent to prop open her blocked right artery - on Tuesday.
She has undergone a stenting procedure in 2006 as well.
